Annual Las Positas Christmas Classic: 1993 - 2006

The Las Positas Christmas Classic was an annual event for fencers of all levels. Here the beginners could try their skill at real competition, and experienced fencers could have fun in an informal but competitive atmosphere. The foil competition was a "standard" tournament where no electrical equipment was used, all fencers were asked to help in judging. Epee competition was electrical and fencers would need to provide their own cord!

This tournament was dedicated to Michael Bergen, a Las Positas College student who loved fencing. Michael passed away in May 1999 while waiting for a heart transplant.

Our new Swords After Sunset Series will extend the friendly competition year-round. The Christmas Classic is now part of the Swords After Sunset Series, called The Holiday Tournament.
