Our Youth classes are listed in the "Activity" section below "Kids, Tweens and Teens." Our Adult classes are listed in the "Wellness and Activity" section below "Play & Explore." You can also contact Coach Stephen at murraylpfc(AT)laspositasfencingcenter(DOT)com (make the appropriate substitutions in the email address). Experienced fencers who only wish to come for sparring are welcome, for the $12 floor fee. We generally devote more time to sparring and less to drills on Thursday evenings. In all classes, fencers shall be divided into age/size groups, so as to avoid any potentially dangerous pairings. Note: wherever we list "Session A" and "Session B," students can enroll in either or both sessions. Separate fees apply for each session. Advanced Camp for KidsThis class is designed for youth fencers (under 14 years of age) who have graduated from Beginning Fencing for Kids, and who would like to continue fencing, but may not be quite ready for the regular Level II class. Basics learned in the Level I class will be reviewed, and more advanced techniques introduced, in order to prepare students for the regular Level II class. Level II Foil and EpeeThis is the class for those with basic to intermediate skills. Students will work towards competitive-level fencing. Classes are offered in two sessions each semester (each session lasts 7 weeks). Graduation to Level III is at the discretion of the coaches. At least a full year may be required for graduation to the next level. Level II SaberThis is for those with basic to intermediate skills and who wish to focus their continued development upon saber. Level III: Competitive FencingThis is the competitive-level class, offered in two sessions each semester. It will be assumed that fencers are actively competing, at least in local tournaments. Private lessons are available during class time, by prior arrangement. Note that, due to enrollment requirements, we have currently combined our Level II Foil/Epee and the Level III classes. The drills covered in the combined class span the two levels. When necessary, Level II students are given more time to work on the more introductory drills, so as to avoid frustration.
